Three months… more than 90 days. It was still winter when this shutdown started and now it feels like summer outside even though the calendar says it’s not quite here yet.
Many of you may have heard that Governor Murphy released Executive Order No. 154 today allowing the opening of various personal care services including massage “parlors”. (Feel free to retweet my request to the Gov. to refer to us as the Licensed Health Professionals we are and just say “Massage Therapy.”)
I am waiting for directives from the state to figure out what our re-opening is going to look like. If you have visited a doctor or dentist in recent weeks, your experience will likely be much the same in my office.
I am going to temporarily disable the online scheduling system and request that all clients have a phone conversation with me prior to booking their first appointment back. If you were diagnosed with COVID-19 or suspected that you may have had it, please get written clearance from your doctor prior to booking your first appointment. There are still many unknown complications for those that have recovered from COVID-19. Let’s have a conversation to decide how best to proceed with your massage therapy session to keep you safe and healthy.
I will be operating on a limited schedule to start so I can see how the schedule works with the additional disinfecting time needed between appointments. I ask for your willingness to be flexible with your schedule as I do my best to try to accommodate everyone. Also know that despite all our mutual precautions and intense disinfecting procedures, everything could come to a screeching halt if cases rise in our area and the governor closes us down again.
Please reach out if you have any questions. I will send out another update once I receive all the re-opening procedures from the state. We must have COVID-19 plan in place that meets the CDC and state guidelines prior to opening.
Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing you very soon.
Please be cautious of misinformation on social media. I encourage everyone to follow the CDC and WHO websites below for the most recent evidence-based information as well as the National Institutes of Health and NJ Dept of Health.
