• Celebrate Survival

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as I have done for the past 11 years, I will spend a few days in October with an amazing team of massage therapists to volunteer at the Avon Walk.

On October 17 and 18, my team and I will be stationed at the Wellness Village giving massages to those individuals who have devoted a weekend to advancing breast cancer research. I continue to be amazed that every year thousands of dedicated people come together to fight for a cure and that every year we get a little bit closer.

When we think about breast cancer, we have to think about more than just searching for solutions. We have to think about all those who have endured cancer, who have lived with cancer, who have survived cancer.

We do the work we do not just to find a way to end cancer forever, but to honor all those who have survived – and all those who have not. And fortunately, in part due to the dedication of those like the Avon Walk volunteers and their supporters, we see more people survive each year.

If you would like to donate to boost my team’s efforts this year, you can do so at my team page. Stay tuned for pictures of the event!
